Dreaming America: Immigrant Business Owners Tell Their Stories

For many immigrants, the pinacle of “making it” in the U.S. is owning your own business.

A 2011 study showed that immigrant business owners in New York City outnumbered native-born business owners in all five boroughs, many owning small, family businesses.

As part of of the Fi2W magazine “Redefining the American Dream” our reporters collected stories for a new collection on the Cowbird multimedia platform. Read, listen, and see images from just a few of the thousands of immigrant business owners in New York City.

*We’re sorry, but CowBird’s website is no longer active, so these stories aren’t available*
