Ali Noorani, the president of the National Immigration Forum, writes in the Huffington Post about the economic benefits of the Obama administration’s new and more open immigration policy.

But how open is it, really?  At Forbes.com, Alex Nowrasteh takes on what he calls the “persistent myth” of Barack Obama’s permissive immigration policy.

Elsewhere at Forbes, Pratistha Gyawali joins Noorani in pointing out the economic costs of barring talented people from living in the United States.

USA Today has a story about U.S. Border Patrol Agents who searched the remote mountains of Arizona for undocumented immigrants, but instead found rare artifacts.

Earlier this month, a story floated around about a Filipino woman who sued to stay in the U.S. based on her marriage to an American woman.  They are not the only ones taking on this type of legal battle, and now their fight may be gaining some ground, according to the Huffington Post.

In New York news, a famous high-end Indian restaurant chain has opened its first location in the United States in the Upper East Side.  DNAInfo.com has the story.
