Job Opportunity at Fi2W- Bilingue Editor, Election App for Latino Millennials

Feet in 2 Worlds is looking for a bilingual editor/multimedia journalist to coordinate our election coverage focused on young Latino voters. We’re developing a mobile app called VOTO2016 that will engage Latino millennials in the 2016 presidential election. The app will have a stream of original and curated content including news stories and analysis of the candidates and the issues. VOTO2016 will feature short sharable videos and will be in both Spanish and English.

Work with an award-winning news organization on a unique public service journalism project.

The editor will work with Fi2W staff and the app developers to help set the editorial tone for  VOTO2016 and will be the main point person for acquiring original content and curating content from a wide range of news sources. The editor may also write and produce video content for the app.

An opportunity for an energetic and highly creative multimedia journalist. We’re looking for someone willing to experiment with new ways to engage potential voters who are part of a pivotal segment of the U.S. electorate.

Specific requirements:

  •      Multimedia skills, especially video production for the Web.
  •      Fluent in Spanish and English.
  •      Previous experience covering elections and/or government in the U.S.
  •      Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of journalists, producers, app developers and partners in media and the non-profit sector.
  •      Must be located in or close to New York City.

This is a temporary position that will last through the November election.
