At Feet in 2 Worlds, we measure our success not by the quantity of stories we publish, but by the depth, integrity, and long-term impact of the journalists we train and support.
Unlike larger newsrooms or training organizations, Fi2W makes a deliberate choice to work closely with a small number of fellows and contributors each year. Our model is high-touch, intentional, and transformational. Every project we undertake is designed to amplify immigrant voices, deepen community-centered storytelling, and prepare journalists to lead in an increasingly hostile and uncertain media environment.
Our impact is visible in the groundbreaking work our fellows have produced — and in the leadership roles they are stepping into across the journalism field.
The past year underscored the urgency of Fi2W’s mission: immigrants in the U.S. face escalating political attacks and disinformation campaigns, while the news industry itself undergoes profound change. Our 2025 Impact Report reflects how Fi2W is meeting this moment with journalism rooted in immigrant experiences and training programs that seed long-term change.
Inside the report you’ll find stories of immigrant workers challenging economic inequality, families confronting the realities of climate change, and Latino communities targeted by disinformation on Spanish-language radio. These stories were reported and edited by Fi2W fellows — journalists who, with our mentorship, produced ambitious projects.
Beyond the journalism itself, the report highlights the ripple effects of our training model. Alumni of Fi2W fellowships are now leading investigative collaborations, shaping national podcasts, and mentoring journalists across the country.
